How to play the Ashen Path Correctly by everseen

Today we have an extra special guide from one of our wonderful players, everseen, who hails from K92.

Hey guys, many of you have played the ashen shrine, but you might not know that there are many tricks to getting the most out of your experience there. In this guide I’ll go over a bit of basics, but also go over some tricks to maximize your game. Before I start however, ALWAYS clear the entire stage by killing monsters and collecting treasure chests. If you don’t you’re seriously missing out on a ton of rewards!

Let’s start with the skills, these are all the skills that you can get when entering the Ashen Shrine.

The most important skills in my opinion are the Mage, Traveler, Druid and Ranger skills. They’re only good if used correctly though. I’ll start with the Mage skill, this should be used against Treasure Goblins. They have a lot of health and also have a chance to void your map when attacked. The next is Traveler, and this can be used if you want. It just collects all the treasure chests on the current level. I personally don’t use this skill and just collect the treasure chests myself. Just incase the skill makes the rewards worse. Druid is another skill that is so useful, especially in the higher levels where the monsters are more difficult to hit. It can save you some gems from reviving in a sticky situation. Now the Ranger skill is good, but only is used correctly. You should NEVER use the ranger skill before you activate the shrine that uncovers all traps. You should only use this skill once you have identified that there are no Demon Caller Traps. This trap when activated will grant you additional monsters and will spawn an additional treasure goblin! (the red one shown in the picture) If you use the ranger skill and break all the traps/clear the map, you will deactivate the demon caller trap. You won’t get the monsters from it. You should only use the ranger skill if the demon caller trap is either activated or not present!

Now that I’ve explained some of the useful ways to use skills, I want to talk about which troops to actually use. I’ve found that cavalry are the best overall troop to use in the ashen shrine. Pairing Rui with Dakell (Khadija is better than Dakell) I can deal a ton of damage to monsters with 220K T11 cavalry. Rui makes it so your cavalry do a ton more damage than they normally would. I complete “Hell” difficulty with only needing to revive once or twice. Most of the monsters in the ashen shrine actually have a debuff where they are weaker to cavalry. You can check this by holding your finger on to the monster. A menu will show up and you can see the debuffs or buffs that monsters have. For example, this monster shown in the picture is a cavalry based monster that is weak to archers.

It’s really quite simple, and just know that you should always do the highest difficulty available only if you are in need of resources. For example, “Normal” difficulty gives a lot of equipment pieces, but gives less resources than “Difficult”. If you’re in need of equipment pieces then maybe you should do “Normal” instead. The treasure goblins also don’t give KvK water or a hero chest upon killing treasure goblins on “Normal” difficulty.

If you’re struggling to do “Hell” difficulty I would recommend getting 4 players with cavalry and using Rui-Anh-Ga. You will be surprised by using T10 cavalry and Rui paired with either Dakell or Khadija it makes it much easier to beat. 4 C30 with decent statistics and all T10 cavalry can beat it. It’s not easy though! That’s all the tips I think I have for ashen shrine. Hopefully people will learn from this how to play the Ashen Path correctly for the most rewards
