Today we are here to share an extra amazing guide [Jewel and Preset Management], which is from one of our wonderful players, MidKnighter from K209.
Today I want to talk about jewel and preset management. It is a key factor, particularly if you fight with all troop types. It allows quick switching of statistics saving valuable time in battle.
There are two basic schools of thought regarding this with some mixtures based on preference. In this guide I will cover these two methods as well as share my personal thoughts and current methods.
A brief overview of presets. We have 5 preset selections that can be opened with gems. These store jewel and equipment reset attributes for quick selection. This allows 1 preset for each troop type and an extra. This allows several options for your 5th.
Total troop power:
The first school of thought is total troop power. This fully boosts attributes for your primary troop of use. For this example, I will use infantry.
Preset wise this one is pretty straightforward. You want equipment resets to be all for your troop of focus, in this case infantry. Attack, defense and HP should all reflect infantry.
Blessing stones are available to ensure full infantry stats. They can be purchased in your hall of war.
However simply applying this and resetting is not necessarily your best course of action. The way I prefer to approach it is to focus on one primary stat, the preferred being attack. To employ this method, you must have a lot of reset stones which can be obtained from various methods including monsters, as well as reset attribute locks. Those I prefer to obtain from wheel of treasure.
What you will do is reset a piece of equipment repeatedly until you obtain a pink attack stat for the proper troop. Once you do this you lock that stat with a attribute lock. Then you activate a blessing stone and reset. You will keep your high attack and receive defense and HP from blessing.
As far as jewels a lot of this comes down to simple math. We have 6 pieces of equipment, each with 3 slots for jewels. Each piece of equipment holds a different type of jewel in sets of two. Two pieces hold attack, two hold defense, and two hold HP jewels. This means to equip your equipment properly you need a total of 6 “functional” jewels of each type for the preset you are on.
This is where I see a lot of people make their first mistake. Do not combine to a higher jewel simply because you can. Always keep your equipment fully equipped with jewels for the proper troop. At first that will mean level 1s, and that’s ok. 6 level 1 gems add 6%. If you combine those to make 2s you will receive 1 level 2 and have two lvl 1s left. This only makes 4%. So you lost 2% plus are not utilizing two slots now for your troop focus. Equal spread ensures optimum stats.
Split method:
Now the second school of thought takes into consideration new troop logic which states that shieldman should always accompany attack troops as the defensive line in battle. This school of thought dictates high attack for the particular troop with defense and HP stats belonging to shieldman since in the ideal battle the enemy will not break through your shieldman. The exception to this rule is siege troops which are not part if the battle circle and will always follow total troop power setup.
To employ this method, you use similar steps to total troop power with some minor changes to boost shieldman defensive stats. This method requires a lot more “functional” infantry defense and HP jewels. I consider “functional” to be a lvl 5 or higher but this number is relative to account size and will change as you grow. Since you must equip 3 presets with infantry and defense jewels not this raises your requirements to 18 functional infantry defense and HP jewels with 6 of each attack type. If you manage your jewel combining properly and grind the game this is not hard to achieve after some time playing regardless of level. It is about growing the proper setup with your account.
For this example I will use archers in photos. Each preset will have the appropriate attack stats for the troop the preset is made for with shieldman defense and HP as stated above. To achieve this with jewels that is pretty straightforward. Use appropriate attack jewels with infantry defense and HP jewels.
For presets we employ the same method as we did for total troop power. We reset our equipment until we have a pink archer attack stat. However, after we lock the attack stat we use an infantry blessing in hopes of getting defense and hp.
The truth is it is pretty rare to get both defense and HP in my experience. Quite often you receive attack and either defense or HP for the infantry. But attack while not the primary goal doesn’t hurt at all. After proper setup you will have a decent mix of appropriate attack, and infantry attack/defense/HP boosting your front lines stats while putting strong focus on primary attack.
For most of us skill books will stay to the preset troops type. This is not only necessary due to a lack of 1000s of infantry skills but also provides some defense and HP stats to your primary troop if your frontline is broken through by the enemy.
Now briefly my preferences. I use total troop power for infantry (obviously) as well as cavalry and I use the split method with archers. This is based primarily in the way mechanics seem to currently function regardless of intent, as well as my personal strategies. The exception to this may be if you are a cavalry player but mostly defend (which isn’t wise but a different guide) then you may consider split method with cavalry.
If you made it this far I hope some of this helps you in battle. As I said this is based on my experiences and there are many variations that can be employed based on preference, strategy, and play style. Happy Hunting!
